Chiaha Harvest Fair

Come to Ridge Ferry Park in Rome, Georgia for the 46th annual Chiaha Harvest Fair on October 23 – 24, 2010. It is sure to be an enjoyable time as you check out the art exhibits and listen to the live entertainment all the while eating some delicious southern goodies and sipping apple cider. There will be over 120 artists displaying their wares as well as demonstrating different crafts. Kids are sure to have fun with the art activities that are planned just for them.
Festival hours are 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, $1 for children under 12. Parking is free.
The Chiaha Harvest Fair is sponsored by the Chiaha Guild of Arts and Crafts and proceeds will go to benefit art education in the Rome/Floyd County area. For more information and details about the fair, call 706-235-4542.

Gates of Misery Haunted House

Enter if you dare…the Gates of Misery Haunted House. Be prepared to be frightened as you walk through the gates to enter one of the scariest haunted houses in Georgia. You never know what might await you behind a door or in the shadows.
The house is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights for the whole month of October, 2010. Tickets go on sale at 7 PM and the doors open at 7:30 PM. The nights end Thursdays at 10:30 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 11 PM with the exception of Halloween. The night ends at 12 Midnight on Halloween. Admission is $13 per person and group rates are available. This is not recommended for children under 12 or people who are faint of heart. For more information contact 706-676-8328.

The Hiding Place

Ballet Magnificat!, a Christian based School of the Arts, will be coming to the Rome City Auditorium on Sunday, September 26, 2010 to perform the ballet, The Hiding Place. Show time is 3 PM. Admission is $10 for individuals, $8 for groups of 8 or more. Ain’t Misbehavin’

The next event on the R.O.M.E. – Rome’s Own Musical Ensembles schedule is Broadway on Broad Street – Ain’t Misbehavin’ on October 8 and 9, 2010 at 7:30 PM. It is a revue of the music of Fats Waller and will be performed by the North West Georgia Winds. The event will be held at the Rome City Auditorium. There are expected to be around 75 different employers taking applications and resumes, looking for new employees. Certified resume writers will be available to assist anyone who may need help with their resumes. 3rd Annual Rome Beer Festival

Sample over 40 different beers at the 3rd annual Rome Beer Festival being held in Heritage Park on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 1 PM to 5 PM. Listen to the live music as you get a taste of many different brands of beer. Proceeds benefit the Rome area Council for the Arts.
Advance tickets are available for $28. Tickets purchased the day of the festival are $30. You must be 21 or older to enter. Discount tickets can be purchased for designated drivers the day of the festival for $10 with a regular paid ticket holder. You can purchase tickets at the Forum Civic Center Box Office at 2 Government Plaza, Rome, GA 30162 or by phone 706-291-5281. You can also get them online at forumevents.org.
