Magnifying GlassIf you’ve ever enjoyed figuring out whodunit in the game Clue, you won’t want to miss this musical adaptation of the popular board game.  This mystery musical is brought to you by the Rome Little Theatre and will be coming to the historic DeSoto Theatre September 24, 25, 26, and October 1, 2, 3, 2010. Show times are 8 PM on Friday and Saturday evenings, 2:30 PM on Sunday afternoon. Ticket prices are $14 for adults, $12 students/seniors.

Rome Little Theatre is presenting a performance of Peter Pan August 27, 28, 29 and September 3, 4, and 5, 2010. The show will be performed at the historic DeSoto Theatre on Broad Street. Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 8 PM and Sunday matinee at 2:30 PM. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for students/seniors. Peter Pan is such a fun story so bring the whole family and have a great time.

August 6, 2010 is the date for the next concert in the 2010 First Friday Concert Series in historic downtown Rome at the Bridgepoint Plaza. The Infinity Show Band is the star of the evening and they are sure to show you a good time with their mix of Motown, Rhythm and Blues, and contemporary music. Show time is from 7 PM to 10 PM.

The Infinity Show Band  is an Atlanta based musical ensemble and will entertain you with their dazzling choregraphy, rich sound and fun audience participation.

The First Friday Concert Series provides quality family entertainment for free in the heart of downtown Rome and is brought to you by the Downtown Development Authority, Radio Station Q102 and the Downtown Business Improvement District. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and prepare to have a great time!

The Chieftains Museum is hosting a special exhibit on the different aspects of modern work of Cherokee Carvers until August 31, 2010. Visit the museum to see the beautiful wood and stone carvings being created by artists currently working in Western North Carolina. Many pieces of art including ritual objects and functional wares will be on display.

Tommy Wildcat, a well known Cherokee historian and flutist from Oklahoma will  be performing one night only in Rome on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 7 PM on the grounds of the Chieftain’s Museum-Major Ridge Home. Don’t miss his show of Cherokee history, language, and beautiful Cherokee flute music. Also performing will be local storyteller, songwriter and musician Gary Greene. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the evening. Admission is $5.00-Adults, $2.00-Students.

Rome, Georgia is located approximately 1 hour northwest of Atlanta in Floyd County.
